Droṇa-parva 139
ते कर्णचापप्रभवा: शरा बर्हिणवासस: । विविशु: सर्वतः पार्थ वासायेवाण्डजा द्रुमम्
te karṇacāpaprabhavāḥ śarā barhiṇavāsasaḥ | viviśuḥ sarvataḥ pārtha vāsāyevāṇḍajā drumam ||
ಪಾರ್ಥನೇ! ಕರ್ಣನ ಧನುಸ್ಸಿನಿಂದ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ, ನವಿಲುಪಕ್ಷಿಯ ರೆಕ್ಕೆಗಳಂತೆ ರೆಕ್ಕೆಗಳಿರುವ ಆ ಬಾಣಗಳು ಎಲ್ಲ ದಿಕ್ಕಿನಿಂದ ಬಂದು ನಿನ್ನೊಳಗೆ ನುಗ್ಗಿದವು—ಮರದ ಮೇಲಿನ ಗೂಡಿಗೆ ಮರಿಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳು ಸೇರುವಂತೆ.
