Duryodhana’s Appeal to Karna — The Kripa–Karna Dialogue
ते शरा: प्रेषितास्तेन भीमसेनेन संयुगे । निपेतु: सर्वतो वीरे कूजन्त इव पक्षिण:,युद्धस्थलमें भीमसेनके द्वारा चलाये हुए वे बाण कूजते हुए पक्षियोंके समान वीर कर्णपर सब ओरसे पड़ने लगे
te śarāḥ preṣitās tena bhīmasenena saṃyuge | nipetuḥ sarvato vīre kūjant iva pakṣiṇaḥ ||
ಯುದ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಭೀಮಸೇನನು ಹಾರಿಸಿದ ಆ ಬಾಣಗಳು ಚಿಲಿಪಿಲಿ ಮಾಡುವ ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳಂತೆ ಶಬ್ದಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ, ವೀರ ಕರ್ಣನ ಮೇಲೆ ಎಲ್ಲ ದಿಕ್ಕಿನಿಂದಲೂ ಬಿದ್ದುಬಂದವು।
कर्ण उवाच
The verse highlights the intensity of righteous warfare as an ordeal of steadiness: a warrior’s character is tested not only by striking power but by the capacity to withstand sustained, multi-directional assault without losing composure.
In the battle scene, Bhimasena releases a volley of arrows. They rain down on Karna from all directions, their whistling likened to the chirping of birds, conveying both speed and density of the attack.
