जैसे वर्षा-ऋतुमें मेघ पर्वतपर जलधाराओंकी वर्षा करते हैं, उसी प्रकार वे आपके पुत्र युद्धस्थलमें भयंकर कर्म करनेवाले पाण्डुपुत्र भीमसेनपर बाणोंकी वर्षा करने लगे ।। स तद् बाणमयं वर्षमश्मवर्षमिवाचल: । प्रतीच्छन् पाण्डुदायादो न प्राव्यथत शत्रुहा
sa tad bāṇamayaṁ varṣam aśmavarṣam ivācalaḥ | pratīcchan pāṇḍudāyādo na prāvyathata śatruhā ||
ಆಗ ಪಾಂಡುದಾಯಾದನಾದ ಶತ್ರುಹಾ ಭೀಮನು ಆ ಬಾಣಮಯ ಮಳೆಯನ್ನು—ಕಲ್ಲುಮಳೆಯಂತೆ—ಪರ್ವತದಂತೆ ಸಹಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು, ಕಿಂಚಿತ್ತೂ ಕದಲಲಿಲ್ಲ।
