Droṇa’s Conditional Boon: The Plan to Capture Yudhiṣṭhira (द्रोणेन युधिष्ठिरग्रहणोपायः)
भीष्मस्य च वधस्तात द्रोणस्य च महात्मन: । तात! भीष्म तथा महात्मा द्रोणका वध युगके उलट जानेकी-सी बात है। सम्पूर्ण लोकोंको यह घटना मानो मोहमें डालनेवाली है
bhīṣmasya ca vadhas tāta droṇasya ca mahātmanaḥ |
ವೈಶಂಪಾಯನನು ಹೇಳಿದನು— ಪ್ರಿಯನೇ! ಭೀಷ್ಮನ ವಧವೂ ಮಹಾತ್ಮ ದ್ರೋಣನ ವಧವೂ ಯುಗವೇ ತಲೆಕೆಳಗಾದಂತಿದೆ. ಈ ಘಟನೆ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಲೋಕಗಳನ್ನು ಮೋಹದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಳುಗಿಸುತ್ತದೆ।
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even the mightiest and most revered can fall when the moral order is strained by war; the epic highlights how dharma becomes difficult to discern, and how victory can demand choices that leave the world morally shaken.
