Droṇa’s Conditional Boon: The Plan to Capture Yudhiṣṭhira (द्रोणेन युधिष्ठिरग्रहणोपायः)
यच्च तन्महदाक्षर्य सभायां मम संजय । कृतवान् पुण्डरीकाक्ष: कस्तदन्य इहाहति,संजय! उस दिन मेरी सभामें कमलनयन श्रीकृष्णने जो महान् आश्चर्य प्रकट किया था, उसे इस संसारमें उनके सिवा दूसरा कौन कर सकता है?
yac ca tan mahad āścaryaṁ sabhāyāṁ mama sañjaya | kṛtavān puṇḍarīkākṣaḥ kas tad anya iha āhati ||
ಸಂಜಯ! ಆ ದಿನ ನನ್ನ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪದ್ಮನೇತ್ರನಾದ ಶ್ರೀಕೃಷ್ಣನು ತೋರಿಸಿದ ಮಹಾ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಈ ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನ ಹೊರತು ಇನ್ನಾರು ಮಾಡಬಲ್ಲರು?
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse underscores Kṛṣṇa’s singular capacity to uphold and reveal a higher order through extraordinary acts; the implied ethical point is that true authority is grounded not merely in power but in a unique, dharma-aligned greatness that others cannot replicate.
Vaiśampāyana addresses Sañjaya, recalling a past event in his (the speaker’s) assembly where Kṛṣṇa manifested a remarkable wonder; he emphasizes that no one else in the world could have performed such an astonishing deed.
