द्रोणो व्यमोहयच्छत्रून् सर्वसैन्यानि वा विभो । प्रभो! उन्हें रथ और विशेषतः आयुधसे रहित देख द्रोणाचार्यने शत्रुओं तथा उनकी सम्पूर्ण सेनाओंको मोहित कर दिया
sañjaya uvāca | droṇo vyamohayac chatrūn sarvasainyāni vā vibho |
ಸಂಜಯನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಓ ವಿಭೋ! ಅವರನ್ನು ರಥವಿಹೀನರಾಗಿ, ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಆಯುಧವಿಹೀನರಾಗಿ ಕಂಡ ದ್ರೋಣಾಚಾರ್ಯನು ಶತ್ರುಗಳನ್ನು—ಅವರ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಸೇನೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಸೇರಿಸಿ—ಮೋಹಗೊಳಿಸಿ ಗೊಂದಲಕ್ಕೆ ತಳ್ಳಿದನು.
संजय उवाच
The verse underscores that victory in war is not only physical but also psychological: disarming and confusing an opponent can collapse an entire force. Ethically, it invites reflection on the boundary between legitimate strategy and taking advantage of an enemy rendered helpless.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Droṇa, acting as commander, caused the opposing side and their forces to fall into confusion—especially as they were seen without chariots and weapons—indicating a moment where Droṇa’s tactical dominance disrupts the enemy’s cohesion.
