ऐरावतेन सा दत्ता अनपत्या महात्मना । पतौ हते सुपर्णेन कृपणा दीनचेतना

Transliteration

sañjaya uvāca | airāvatena sā dattā anapatyā mahātmanā | patau hate suparṇena kṛpaṇā dīnacetanā ||

Translation

ಸಂಜಯನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಐರಾವತ ವಂಶದ ಆ ಮಹಾತ್ಮನು ಅವಳನ್ನು (ನಾಗಕನ್ಯೆಯನ್ನು) ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದನು; ಅವಳು ಸಂತಾನವಿಲ್ಲದವಳು. ಅವಳ ಮನೋನೀತ ಪತಿಯನ್ನು ಸುಪರ್ಣ (ಗರುಡ) ಕೊಂದಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವಳು ಕೃಪಣಳಾಗಿ, ದೀನಚಿತ್ತಳಾಗಿ ಬಿದ್ದಿದ್ದಳು.
