In the immediate context of Kurukṣetra, the verse highlights kṣatriya-dharma as disciplined readiness and coordinated response under leadership. Ethically, it shows how conflict escalates through mirrored action—each side answering the other’s advance—making restraint difficult once armies are fully committed.
As the battle intensifies, the Pāṇḍava forces—mounted on chariots sounding a fearsome roar—charge forward to meet the opposing side, with Dhṛṣṭadyumna at the forefront leading the advance.
