कर्णस्य मतमास्थाय सौबलस्य च यत् पुरा । अचिन्त्य पाण्डवान् कामाद् यथेष्टं कृतवानसि
karṇasya matam āsthāya saubalasya ca yat purā | acintya pāṇḍavān kāmād yatheṣṭaṁ kṛtavān asi |
ಸಂಜಯನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಹಿಂದೆ ಕರ್ಣನ ಹಾಗೂ ಸೌಬಲನ (ಶಕುನಿ) ಸಲಹೆಯನ್ನು ಆಶ್ರಯಿಸಿ, ಕಾಮದಿಂದ ಪ್ರೇರಿತನಾಗಿ, ಪಾಂಡವರನ್ನು ಲೆಕ್ಕಿಸದೆ ನೀನು ಮನಬಂದಂತೆ ನಡೆದೆ.
संजय उवाच
Unchecked desire (kāma) and reliance on manipulative counsel lead to unethical, arbitrary action; one becomes morally responsible for choices made even when influenced by advisers.
Sañjaya recounts to Dhṛtarāṣṭra how Duryodhana earlier followed Karṇa and Śakuni’s advice and, driven by desire, treated the Pāṇḍavas with contempt—setting the stage for inevitable conflict and retribution.
