Adhyāya 78 — Bhīṣma’s Advance, Duryodhana’s Rally, and Concurrent Duels (भीष्मस्याभ्युद्यमः, दुर्योधनस्योत्साहवचनम्, विविधयुद्धवर्णनम्)
प्रजानाथ! महाबली कौरव तथा पाण्डव एक-दूसरेके अस्त्र-शस्त्रोंका निवारण करते हुए जूझ रहे थे ।। इति श्रीमहा भारते भीष्मपर्वणि भीष्मवधपर्वणि षष्ठदिवसयुद्धारम्भे पज्चसप्ततितमो<ध्याय:
Sañjaya uvāca: Prajānātha! Mahābalī Kauravā tathā Pāṇḍavā eka-dūṣareke astra-śastrōṅkā nivāraṇa karate hue jūjha rahe the. Iti Śrīmahābhārate Bhīṣmaparvaṇi Bhīṣmavadhaparvaṇi ṣaṣṭha-divasa-yuddhārambhe pañca-saptatitamo 'dhyāyaḥ.
ಸಂಜಯನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಹೇ ಪ್ರಜಾನಾಥ! ಮಹಾಬಲಿಗಳಾದ ಕೌರವರು ಮತ್ತು ಪಾಂಡವರು ಪರಸ್ಪರರ ಅಸ್ತ್ರ-ಶಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ತಡೆದು ನಿವಾರಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು। ಇಂತೆ ಶ್ರೀಮಹಾಭಾರತದ ಭೀಷ್ಮಪರ್ವದೊಳಗಿನ ಭೀಷ್ಮವಧಪರ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಆರನೇ ದಿನದ ಯುದ್ಧಾರಂಭವನ್ನು ವರ್ಣಿಸುವ ಎಪ್ಪತ್ತೈದನೇ ಅಧ್ಯಾಯವು ಸಮಾಪ್ತವಾಯಿತು।
