महाव्यूह: कलिज्रानामेकेन मृदितस्त्वया । “आपने अकेले अपनी ही भुजाओंके बल और पराक्रमसे कलिंगोंके उस महान्‌ व्यूहको रौंदकर मिट्टीमें मिला दिया

Transliteration

sañjaya uvāca | mahāvyūhaḥ kaliṅgānām ekena mṛditas tvayā |

Translation

“ಕಲಿಂಗರ ಆ ಮಹಾವ್ಯೂಹವನ್ನು ನೀನು ಒಬ್ಬನೇ ತುಳಿದು ಚೂರಾಗಿಸಿದ್ದೆ. ನಿನ್ನದೇ ಬಾಹುಬಲ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಾಕ್ರಮದಿಂದ, ಆನೆ-ಕುದುರೆ-ರಥಗಳಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿದ್ದ ಆ ಘನ ವಿನ್ಯಾಸವನ್ನು ಭೇದಿಸಿ ಧ್ವಂಸಮಾಡಿದೆ. ಅದರೊಳಗಿನ ಅನೇಕರು ಲೋಕಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ಪುರುಷರೆಂದು ಗಣಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವರು; ಅಸಂಖ್ಯ ಧೀರ-ವೀರ ಯೋಧರು ಆ ಮಹಾವ್ಯೂಹದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಶ್ರಯ ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದರು।”
