कलिड्जप्रभवां चैव मांसशोणितकर्दमाम् | रुधिरस्यन्दिनीं तत्र भीम: प्रावर्तयन्नदीम्,भीमसेनने वहाँ एक भयंकर नदी प्रकट कर दी, जो कलिंग-सेनारूपी उदगमस्थानसे निकली थी। उसमें मांस और शोणितकी ही कीच थी। वह नदी रक्तकी ही धारा बहा रही थी
kaliṅga-prabhavāṃ caiva māṃsa-śoṇita-kardamām | rudhira-syandinīṃ tatra bhīmaḥ prāvartayannadīm ||
ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಭೀಮನು ಕಲಿಂಗ ಸೇನೆಯನ್ನೇ ಉದ್ಗಮವನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಒಂದು ಭೀಕರ ನದಿಯನ್ನು ಹರಿಯುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದನು—ಅದರ ಕೆಸರು ಮಾಂಸ-ರಕ್ತದದು, ಅದರ ಪ್ರವಾಹ ರುಧಿರಧಾರೆಯೇ.
