सा गदा वेगवन्मुक्ता प्रायाद् द्रोणजिघांसया । तत्राद्भुतमपश्याम भारद्वाजस्य विक्रमम्,द्रोणाचार्यके वधकी इच्छासे वेगपूर्वक छोड़ी हुई वह गदा बड़े जोरसे चली; परंतु वहाँ हमलोगोंने उस समय द्रोणाचार्यका अद्भुत पराक्रम देखा
sā gadā vegavanmuktā prāyād droṇajighāṃsayā | tatrādbhutam apaśyāma bhāradvājasya vikramam ||
ದ್ರೋಣನನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಆಸೆಯಿಂದ ವೇಗವಾಗಿ ಎಸೆದ ಆ ಗದೆ ಅವನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಧಾವಿಸಿತು; ಆದರೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವು ಆ ಕ್ಷಣದಲ್ಲೇ ಭಾರದ್ವಾಜಪುತ್ರ ದ್ರೋಣನ ಅದ್ಭುತ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಕಂಡೆವು।
