नाहं वेदैर्न तपसा न दानेन न चेज्यया । शकक््य एवंविधो द्रष्ठुं दृष्टटानसि मां यथा,जिस प्रकार तुमने मुझको देखा है--इस प्रकार चतुर्भुजरूपवाला मैं न वेदोंसे, न तपसे, न दानसे और न यज्ञसे ही देखा जा सकता हूँ:
arjuna uvāca | nāhaṃ vedair na tapasā na dānena na cejyayā | śakya evaṃvidho draṣṭuṃ dṛṣṭavān asi māṃ yathā ||
ವೇದಗಳಿಂದಲೂ, ತಪಸ್ಸಿನಿಂದಲೂ, ದಾನದಿಂದಲೂ, ಯಜ್ಞಾರಾಧನೆಯಿಂದಲೂ—ನೀನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಂಡಂತೆ ಈ ವಿಧದ ರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನೋಡುವುದು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ.
