उत्पातवर्णनम् (Utpāta-varṇanam) — Catalogue of Portents
सहस्रशो महाशब्द: शिखराणि पतन्ति च । जान पड़ता है, यह भूमि सहस्रों भूमिपालोंका रक्तपान करेगी। प्रभो! कैलास, मन्दराचल तथा हिमालयसे सहसों प्रकारके अत्यन्त भयानक शब्द प्रकट होते हैं और उनके शिखर भी टूट-टूटकर गिर रहे हैं
sahasraśo mahāśabdaḥ śikharāṇi patanti ca |
ವ್ಯಾಸನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಎಲ್ಲ ದಿಕ್ಕುಗಳಿಂದ ಸಹಸ್ರಸಹಸ್ರವಾಗಿ ಭಯಂಕರ, ಗುಡುಗುಸಮಾನ ಮಹಾಶಬ್ದಗಳು ಉದ್ಭವಿಸುತ್ತಿವೆ; ಪರ್ವತಶಿಖರಗಳು ಮುರಿದು ಮುರಿದು ಕೆಳಗೆ ಬೀಳುತ್ತಿವೆ. ಈ ಅಪಶಕುನಗಳು ಸೂಚಿಸುವುದು—ಈ ಭೂಮಿ ಅನೇಕ ರಾಜರ ರಕ್ತವನ್ನು ಪಾನಮಾಡಲು ಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿದೆ; ಧರ್ಮವು ಮಹತ್ವಾಕಾಂಕ್ಷೆಯಿಂದ ಮುಚ್ಚಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಾಗ ಯುದ್ಧವು ಬಿಡುವ ಅಧರ್ಮಮಯ ಮಹಾಸಂಹಾರದ ಪೂರ್ವಸೂಚನೆ ಇದಾಗಿದೆ.
