सम्बन्ध-- पूर्वश्लीकोंगें भगवान्‌ूने यह बात कही कि जब वुम्हारी बुद्धि परमात्मामें निश्चल ठहर जायगी, तब तुम परमात्माको प्राप्त हो जाओगे। इसपर परमात्माको प्राप्त स्थितप्रज्ञ सिद्धयोगीके लक्षण और आचरण जाननेकी इच्छासे अर्जुन पूछते हैं-- अजुन उवाच स्थितप्रज्ञस्य का भाषा समाधिस्थस्य केशव । स्थितथधी: कि प्रभाषेत किमासीत व्रजेत किम्‌

arjuna uvāca | sthitaprajñasya kā bhāṣā samādhisthasya keśava | sthitadhīḥ kiṁ prabhāṣeta kim āsīta vrajeta kim ||

ಅರ್ಜುನನು ಹೇಳಿದರು—ಹೇ ಕೇಶವ! ಸಮಾಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಿತನಾದ ಸ್ಥಿತಪ್ರಜ್ಞನ ಲಕ್ಷಣವೇನು? ಅವನು ಹೇಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ? ಹೇಗೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾನೆ? ಹೇಗೆ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಾನೆ?

On the battlefield, after hearing that firm establishment of intellect leads to the highest attainment, Arjuna seeks clarity. He asks Kṛṣṇa (Keśava) to describe the characteristics and daily conduct of the ‘sthitaprajña’—the perfected, steady-minded practitioner—so that such steadiness can be understood and emulated.
