महार थैर्वृष्णिभोजै: सुगुप्तं सुराष्ट्रकैविंहितैरात्तशस्त्रै: | बृहद् बल॑ कृतवर्माभिगुप्तं बल॑ त्वदीयं दक्षिणेनाभियाति,हाथमें हथियार लिये सुशिक्षित सुराष्ट्रदेशीय वीरों तथा वृष्णि और भोजवंशके महारथियोंद्वारा पालित विशाल सेना कृतवर्मद्वारा सुरक्षित होकर आपकी सेनाके दाहिने भागसे होकर युद्धके लिये यात्रा कर रही थी

mahārathair vṛṣṇibhojaiḥ suguptaṃ surāṣṭrakair vihitair āttaśastraiḥ |
bṛhad balaṃ kṛtavarmābhiguptaṃ balaṃ tvadīyaṃ dakṣiṇenābhiyāti ||
ಸಂಜಯನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ವೃಷ್ಣಿ ಮತ್ತು ಭೋಜವಂಶದ ಮಹಾರಥರು ಹಾಗೂ ಶಸ್ತ್ರಧಾರಿಗಳಾದ ಸುಶಿಕ್ಷಿತ ಸೌರಾಷ್ಟ್ರದ ವೀರರು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಕಾಪಾಡಿದ ಆ ಮಹಾಬಲವು ಕೃತವರ್ಮನ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಸೈನ್ಯದ ಬಲಪಾರ್ಶ್ವದಿಂದ ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಮುಂದುವರಿಯುತ್ತಿತ್ತು।
