Educational Q&A

The verse underscores a dharmic-cosmic perspective: beyond immediate human conflict, the world is structured with vast regions and natural splendors. Such descriptions encourage steadiness of mind and a broader view of order (dharma) that contains both wealth and suffering.

Sañjaya is describing sacred geography—specifically Puṣkara-dvīpa—and notes a mountain there named Puṣkara, characterized as abundant in gems and precious stones.
