जग्मुस्ते परलोकाय व्यादितास्यमिवान्तकम्‌ | वे युद्धसे पीठ न दिखानेवाले

Transliteration

sañjaya uvāca | jagmus te paralokāya vyāditāsyam ivāntakam |

Translation

ಆ ಯೋಧರು ಬಾಯಿ ತೆರೆದ ಮರಣದೊಳಗೆ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿದವರಂತೆ ಪರಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ತೆರಳಿದರು. ಯುದ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆನ್ನು ತೋರದವರು, ಶೌರ್ಯಸಂಪನ್ನರು, ಸ್ವರ್ಣಧ್ವಜಧಾರಿಗಳು—ಅವರೆಲ್ಲ ಭೀಷ್ಮನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಮುನ್ನುಗ್ಗಿ, ಅಶ್ವ-ರಥ-ಗಜಗಳೊಡನೆ ಪರಲೋಕಮಾರ್ಗದ ಪಥಿಕರಾದರು.
