अहमावारयिष्यामि वेलेव मकरालयम् । “मैं द्रोणाचार्य
sañjaya uvāca | aham āvārayiṣyāmi veleva makarālayam | kurūṃś ca sahitān sarvān yudhyamānān mahābalān | nivārayiṣyāmi raṇe sādhayasva pitāmaham ||
ಸಂಜಯನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಮಕರಾಲಯವಾದ ಸಮುದ್ರವನ್ನು ಕರಾವಳಿ ತಡೆಯುವಂತೆ ನಾನೂ ಅವರನ್ನು ತಡೆಯುವೆನು. ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲ ಮಹಾಬಲ ಕೌರವರನ್ನೂ ರಣಾಂಗಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಂದೆ ಸಾಗದಂತೆ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸುವೆನು. ನೀನು ಪಿತಾಮಹ ಭೀಷ್ಮನ ವಿಷಯದ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸಾಧಿಸು.
