चाण्डालरूपी भगवान् सुमहांस्ते व्यतिक्रम: । यत् तु शक््यं मया कर्तु भूय एव तवेप्सितम्,“आपने चाण्डालरूपधारी भगवान् इन्द्रको ठुकराया है, यह आपका महान् अपराध है। अच्छा, आपकी इच्छा पूर्ण करनेके लिये मैं पुन: जो कुछ कर सकता हूँ, करूँगा
cāṇḍālarūpī bhagavān sumahāṁs te vyatikramaḥ | yat tu śakyaṁ mayā kartuṁ bhūya eva tavepsitam ||
ಉತ್ತಂಕನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—“ಚಾಂಡಾಲ ವೇಷವನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿದ ಭಗವಾನ್ ಇಂದ್ರನನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸುವುದು ನಿನ್ನ ಮಹಾ ಅಪರಾಧ. ಆದರೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಇಚ್ಛೆ ನೆರವೇರಿಸಲು ನನ್ನಿಂದ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾದುದನ್ನು ನಾನು ಮತ್ತೆ ಮಾಡುವೆನು.”
