अदन्नन्नान्यथो<विद्वान्‌ ममत्वेनोपपद्यते । आत्मार्थ पाचयन्नन्नं ममत्वेनोपहन्यते

adann annam anyathā ’vidvān mamatvenopapadyate | ātmārthaṃ pācayann annaṃ mamatvenopahanyate ||

ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಅಜ್ಞಾನಿ, ದತ್ತವಲ್ಲದ ಅನ್ನವನ್ನು ಭುಂಜಿಸುವಾಗ ವಿಕೃತವಾಗಿ ‘ಮಮತ್ವ’ದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಲುಕುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ತನ್ನಿಗಾಗಿಯೇ ಅನ್ನವನ್ನು ಬೇಯಿಸುವವನು ಕೂಡ ಅದೇ ಮಮತ್ವದೋಷದಿಂದ ಹೊಡೆತಪಡೆಯುತ್ತಾನೆ.
