Karma’s Non-Extinction, Jīva’s Entry into the Embryo, and Instruction on Conduct-Dharma
यथा कर्मसमाविष्ट: काममन्युसमावृतः । नरो गर्भ प्रविशति तच्चापि शृणु चोत्तरम्,काम-क्रोधसे घिरा हुआ मनुष्य जिस प्रकार कर्मजालमें आबद्ध होकर गर्भमें प्रवेश करता है, उसका भी उत्तर सुनो
yathā karmasamāviṣṭaḥ kāmamanyusamāvṛtaḥ | naro garbhaṁ praviśati tac cāpi śṛṇu cottaram ||
ಕರ್ಮಬಂಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಲುಕಿಕೊಂಡು, ಕಾಮ-ಕ್ರೋಧಗಳಿಂದ ಆವೃತನಾಗಿ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಹೇಗೆ ಗರ್ಭವನ್ನು ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸುತ್ತಾನೋ—ಅದರ ಮುಂದಿನ ಉತ್ತರವನ್ನು ಕೂಡ ಕೇಳು.
ब्राह्मण उवाच
A person’s rebirth is portrayed as propelled by karma and psychologically driven by desire and anger; ethical self-mastery (restraining kāma and manyu) is implied as essential for breaking the cycle of compulsive action and repeated birth.
A Brāhmaṇa speaker continues an instructive discourse, using the image of a man entering the womb—conditioned by past deeds and inner passions—and invites the listener to hear the subsequent explanation (uttara) that follows this point.
