धृतराष्ट्रस्य पाण्डवेषु प्रीति-वृत्तान्तः | Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Affectionate Disposition toward the Pāṇḍavas
3 ॥ है के १) ल् |] 5) गः हि है| 02) १ | + त॑ तु दृष्टवा समासीनं विसंज्ञमिव कौरवम् । आर्ति राजागमत् तीव्रां कौन्तेय: परवीरहा
tad tu dṛṣṭvā samāsīnaṃ visaṃjñam iva kauravam | ārtiṃ rājāgamat tīvrāṃ kaunteyaḥ paravīrahā ||
ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕೌರವ ರಾಜನು ಸಂಜ್ಞಾಹೀನನಂತೆ ಕುಳಿತಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡು, ಶತ್ರುವೀರಹಂತಕ ಕೌಂತೇಯ ಯುಧಿಷ್ಠಿರನಿಗೆ ತೀವ್ರವಾದ ಆर्ति ಉಂಟಾಯಿತು.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even righteous victory does not erase moral pain: compassion and responsibility persist after conflict, and the suffering of elders and kin becomes a continuing test of dharma.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that Yudhiṣṭhira sees Dhṛtarāṣṭra seated as if unconscious and is overwhelmed by sharp distress at the sight of the Kuru elder’s condition.
