धृतराष्ट्रस्य पाण्डवेषु प्रीति-वृत्तान्तः | Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Affectionate Disposition toward the Pāṇḍavas

गान्धार्याश्रैव राजेन्द्र तदनुज्ञातुमरहसि । “वे सब युद्धमें सम्मुख मारे गये हैं

gāndhāryāś caiva rājendra tad anu jñātum arhasi |

ಧೃತರಾಷ್ಟ್ರನು ಹೇಳಿದನು— “ರಾಜೇಂದ್ರ, ಗಾಂಧಾರಿಗೂ ನನಗೂ ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಅನುಮತಿ ನೀಡುವುದು ನಿನಗೆ ಯುಕ್ತ. ನಮ್ಮ ಎಲ್ಲ ಪುತ್ರರೂ ಯುದ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಹತರಾದರು; ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಶಸ್ತ್ರಧಾರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಲಭಿಸುವ ಲೋಕಗಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈಗ ನಮ್ಮ ಪರಮ ಹಿತಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಗಾಂಧಾರಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ನಾನು ಪವಿತ್ರ ತಪಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು; ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ನಮಗೆ ಅನುಮತಿ ನೀಡು.”
