अनुशासनपर्व अध्याय ९३ — तपस्, सदोपवास, विघसाशन, अतिथिप्रियता
Austerity, regulated fasting, residual-eating, and hospitality
ये च भाष्यविद: केचिद् ये च व्याकरणे रता: । अधीयते पुराण ये धर्मशास्त्राण्यथापि च
bhīṣma uvāca | ye ca bhāṣyavidaḥ kecid ye ca vyākaraṇe ratāḥ | adhīyate purāṇe ye dharmaśāstrāṇy athāpi ca ||
ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಭಾಷ್ಯವಿದರಾದವರು, ವ್ಯಾಕರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಸಕ್ತರಾದವರು, ಪುರಾಣಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಮಾಡುವವರು—ಇಂತಹ ವಿದ್ಯಾ-ಸದಾಚಾರಸಂಪನ್ನ ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣರು ತಮ್ಮ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿ ಮಾತ್ರದಿಂದಲೂ ಇತರರನ್ನು ಪವಿತ್ರಗೊಳಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
