The Duty to Fulfill Promised Gifts
न हर्तव्यं विप्रधन क्षन्तव्यं तेषु नित्यश: । बालाश्व नावमन्तव्या दरिद्रा: कृपणा अपि
na hartavyaṃ vipradhanaṃ kṣantavyaṃ teṣu nityaśaḥ | bālāś ca nāvamantavyā daridrāḥ kṛpaṇā api ||
ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣರ ಧನವನ್ನು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಕಸಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬಾರದು. ಅವರು ತಪ್ಪು ಮಾಡಿದರೂ ಸಹ ಸದಾ ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಕ್ಷಮಾಭಾವವಿರಲಿ. ಅವರು ಬಾಲಕರಾಗಿರಲಿ, ದರಿದ್ರರಾಗಿರಲಿ, ದೀನರಾಗಿರಲಿ—ಅವರನ್ನು ಅವಮಾನಿಸಬಾರದು.
