Śrāddha-Kalpa: Pitṛ-Pūjā and Tithi-Phala (श्राद्धकल्पः पितृपूजा च तिथिफलम्)
ते दीनमनस: सर्वे देवता ऋषयश्न ये । प्रजग्मु: शरण देवं ब्रह्माणमजरं विभुम्,वे सब देवता और ऋषि दीनचित्त हो अजर-अमर एवं सर्वव्यापी देवता भगवान् ब्रह्माकी शरणमें गये
te dīna-manasaḥ sarve devatā ṛṣayaś ca ye | prajagmuḥ śaraṇaṃ devaṃ brahmāṇam ajaraṃ vibhum ||
ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದರು—ಎಲ್ಲ ದೇವತೆಗಳೂ ಋಷಿಗಳೂ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಕುಗ್ಗಿ, ಅಜರನೂ ಸರ್ವವ್ಯಾಪಿಯೂ ಆದ ದೇವ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮನ ಶರಣಿಗೆ ಹೋದರು; ಆ ಸಂಕಟಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನವನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿದರು.
