शक्यं होवाहवे योद्धं न दातुमनसूयितम्
śakyaṃ hovāhave yoddhaṃ na dātum anasūyitam
ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಯುದ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೋಧನನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು ಸಾಧ್ಯ; ಆದರೆ ಅಸೂಯೆ ಮತ್ತು ದೋಷದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ ಮುಕ್ತನಾದವನನ್ನು ದಾನವಾಗಿ ನೀಡುವುದು ಅಥವಾ ಸುಲಭವಾಗಿ ದೊರಕಿಸಿಕೊಡುವುದು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಲ್ಲ. ಅಂಥ ಸ್ವಭಾವವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಪಡೆಯಲಾಗದು—ಅದು ಧರ್ಮಗುಣವಾಗಿ ಸಾಧಿಸಿ ಬೆಳೆಸಬೇಕಾದದ್ದು.
