गवां लोकवर्णनं तथा गोप्रदानफलश्रुतिः

प्रचारे वा निवाते वा बुधो नोद्वेजयेत गा: । तृषिता हाभिवीक्षन्त्यो नरं हन्यु: सबान्धवम्

ಹಸುಗಳು ಸ್ವಚ್ಛಂದವಾಗಿ ಸಂಚರಿಸುತ್ತಿರಲಿ ಅಥವಾ ಉಪದ್ರವರಹಿತ ಶಾಂತ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶ್ರಾಂತಿಯಾಗಿರಲಿ—ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತನು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಅಶಾಂತಗೊಳಿಸಬಾರದು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ದಾಹದಿಂದ ಪೀಡಿತವಾಗಿ ನೀರಿನ ಆಸೆಯಿಂದ ಅವು ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಕಡೆ ನೋಡುವಾಗ ಅವನು ನೀರು ಕೊಡದೆ ಹೋದರೆ, ಅವು ಕ್ರೋಧದ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ ಅವನನ್ನು ಬಂಧು-ಬಾಂಧವರೊಡನೆ ನಾಶಕ್ಕೆ ತಳ್ಳುತ್ತವೆ.
