यदि ते तादृशो राष्ट्रे विद्वान सीदेत्‌ क्षुधा द्विज: । भ्रूणहत्यां च गच्छेथा: कृत्वा पापमिवोत्तमम्‌

yadi te tādṛśo rāṣṭre vidvān sīdet kṣudhā dvijaḥ | bhrūṇahatyāṃ ca gacchethāḥ kṛtvā pāpam ivottamam, rājan |

ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದರು—ರಾಜನೇ! ನಿನ್ನ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂಥ ಯೋಗ್ಯ ಪಂಡಿತ ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣನು ಹಸಿವಿನಿಂದ ಕಂಗೆಟ್ಟರೆ, ನಿನಗೆ ಭ್ರೂಣಹತ್ಯೆಯ ಪಾಪವು ತಗುಲುತ್ತದೆ; ಮಹಾಪಾಪಿಯು ಅನುಭವಿಸುವ ಭೀಕರ ಪತನವೇ ನಿನಗೂ ಸಂಭವಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
