Adhyāya 59: On Giving to the Asker and Supporting the Non-asking
bhṛgūṇāṁ kṣatriyā yājyā nityam etaj janādhipa | te ca bhedaṁ gamiṣyanti daivayuktena hetunā ||
The verse affirms a normative dharmic arrangement—Kṣatriyas are proper recipients of priestly service from the Bhṛgu Brahmins—while also warning that even established social-religious bonds can fracture when propelled by causes intertwined with destiny (daiva) and human action.
The speaker addresses a king (janādhipa) and states a customary rule about ritual relations between the Bhṛgus and Kṣatriyas, then foreshadows an impending split between them, attributing it to a destiny-linked cause.
