अब्रवीदितरां कन्यामावहेति स कौरव: । अप्यन्याननुपप्रच्छ शड्कमान: पितुर्वच:

abravīd itarāṁ kanyām āvaheti sa kauravaḥ | apy anyān anupapraccha śaṅkamānaḥ pitur vacaḥ ||

ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದರು—ಆ ಕೌರವ ಹಿರಿಯನು “ಇತರ ಕನ್ಯೆಯನ್ನು ವಿವಾಹಮಾಡು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಆದರೆ ತಂದೆಯ ಮಾತಿನ ಯುಕ್ತತೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ನನಗೆ ಸಂಶಯವಿದ್ದರಿಂದ, ನಾನು ಇತರರನ್ನೂ ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿದೆನು.
