श्यामायनो<थ गार्ग्यश्व॒ जाबालि: सुश्रुतस्तथा । कारीषिरथ संभश्रुत्य: परपौरवतन्तव:
śyāmāyano ’tha gārgyāśvaḥ jābāliḥ suśrutas tathā | kārīṣiratha saṃbhaśrutyaḥ parapauravatantavaḥ ||
ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದರು—ನಂತರ ಶ್ಯಾಮಾಯನ, ಗಾರ್ಗ್ಯಾಶ್ವ, ಜಾಬಾಲಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸುಶ್ರುತ; ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಕಾರೀಷಿರಥ, ಸಂಭಶ್ರುತ್ಯ, ಮತ್ತು ಪರಪೌರವ ವಂಶಸಂಬಂಧಿಗಳೂ ಇದ್ದರು.
भीष्म उवाच
Dharma is grounded in the remembered teachings and living traditions of authoritative sages and lineages; Bhīṣma reinforces his instruction by citing respected names and ancestral schools as sources of reliable ethical knowledge.
Bhīṣma continues enumerating notable sages and lineage-holders, presenting them as exemplars or authorities whose traditions support the dharmic guidance he is conveying in the Anuśāsana Parva.
