Mataṅga–Śakra Dialogue on Tapas, Status, and Moral Qualities
अग्नौ प्रास्तं प्रधूयेत यथा तूल॑ द्विजोत्तम । तथा गज्भजावगाढस्य सर्वपापं प्रधूयते
agnau prāstaṃ pradhūyeta yathā tūlaṃ dvijottama | tathā gaṅgāmbhasi āvāgāḍhasya sarvapāpaṃ pradhūyate ||
ಸಿದ್ಧನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಓ ದ್ವಿಜೋತ್ತಮನೇ! ಅಗ್ನಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎಸೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಹತ್ತಿಯ ತುಪ್ಪು ಕ್ಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಟ್ಟು ಭಸ್ಮವಾಗುವಂತೆ, ಗಂಗಾಜಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಳುಗುವವನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪಾಪಗಳು ತೊಳೆದು ನಾಶವಾಗುತ್ತವೆ।
