मेने दिविष्ठमात्मानं तुष्टया परमया युत:ः । शुद्ध अन्तःकरणवाले उन ऋषि-मुनियोंकी बातें सुनकर भीष्मजी बहुत संतुष्ट हुए और अपनेको स्वर्गमें ही स्थित मानने लगे
Vaiśaṃpāyana uvāca: mene divi-stham ātmānaṃ tuṣṭyā paramayā yutaḥ.
ವೈಶಂಪಾಯನನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಪರಮ ತೃಪ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಯುಕ್ತನಾದ ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಸ್ವರ್ಗದಲ್ಲೇ ಸ್ಥಿತನಂತೆ ಭಾವಿಸಿದನು. ಶುದ್ಧಾಂತಃಕರಣರಾದ ಆ ಋಷಿಗಳ ವಚನಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಅವನು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಸಂತುಷ್ಟನಾದನು.
