Shloka 9

नतु वक्षिन्नयेत्‌ प्राज्ञो गृहीत्वैव करे नरम्‌ । उच्यमानस्तु धर्मेण धर्मलोकभयच्छले

na tu vakṣy nayed prājño gṛhītvāiva kare naram | ucyamānas tu dharmeṇa dharmalokabhayacchale ||

ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಎಷ್ಟು ಪ್ರಾಜ್ಞನಾದರೂ, ಯಾರನ್ನಾದರೂ ಕೈ ಹಿಡಿದು ಬಲಾತ್ಕಾರವಾಗಿ ಧರ್ಮಮಾರ್ಗಕ್ಕೆ ತಳ್ಳಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ನ್ಯಾಯಾನುಸಾರ ಧರ್ಮವನ್ನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾ, ಲೋಕನಿಂದೆಯ ಭಯವನ್ನೂ ನೆಪಮಾಡಿ, ಅವನನ್ನು ಧರ್ಮಾಚರಣೆಗೆ ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಬಹುದು.
