यथा ह्ुपस्थितैश्वर्या: प्रजायन्ते न राजसा: । एवमेवात्मना5७त्मानं पूजयन्तीह धार्मिका:

yathā hy upasthitaiśvaryāḥ prajāyante na rājasāḥ | evam evātmanātmānaṃ pūjayantīha dhārmikāḥ ||

ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಯಾವರ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯ ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಸ್ಥಿರವಾಗಿದೆಯೋ, ಅವರು ರಜೋಗುಣಪ್ರೇರಿತ ತವಕದಿಂದ ಪುನರ್ಜನ್ಮವನ್ನು ಬಯಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕರು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಆತ್ಮದಿಂದಲೇ ಆತ್ಮವನ್ನು ಪೂಜಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಧರ್ಮಾನುಷ್ಠಾನದ ಶಿಸ್ತಿನಿಂದ, ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ವಪ್ರಯತ್ನದಿಂದ, ಅವರು ಒಳಸತ್ತ್ವವನ್ನು ಉನ್ನತ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಗೆ ಏರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ—ರಜಸ್ಸಿನ ಪ್ರಾಬಲ್ಯದಿಂದ ಮತ್ತೆ ಜನನ–ಮರಣಚಕ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಬೀಳದಂತೆ.
