दृष्टवा नातिप्रभं सोम॑ तथा सूर्य च पार्थिव । प्रकाशमकरोददत्रिस्तपसा स्वेन संयुगे
dṛṣṭvā nātiprabhaṃ somaṃ tathā sūryaṃ ca pārthiva | prakāśam akarod atris tapasā svena saṃyuge ||
ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದನು— “ಓ ರಾಜನೇ, ಸೋಮ (ಚಂದ್ರ) ಮತ್ತು ಸೂರ್ಯರ ಕಾಂತಿ ಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಕಾಶಿಸದಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡು, ಮಹರ್ಷಿ ಅತ್ರಿಯು ತನ್ನ ತಪೋಬಲದಿಂದ ಆ ಯುದ್ಧಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳಕನ್ನು ಹರಡಿದನು; ಅಂಧಕಾರವನ್ನು ನಿವಾರಿಸಿ ಲೋಕವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಕಾಶಮಾಡಿದನು.”
