दानवैर्युधि भग्ना: सम तथैश्वर्याच्च भ्रंशिता: । तदस्मान्नो भयात् तीव्रात् त्राहि त्वं मुनिपुड्व,“मुनिवर! दानवोंने हमें युद्धमें हटाकर हमारा ऐश्वर्य छीन लिया है। इस तीव्र भयसे आप हमारी रक्षा करें"
dānavair yudhi bhagnāḥ sma tathaivaiśvaryāc ca bhraṃśitāḥ | tad asmān no bhayāt tīvrāt trāhi tvaṃ munipuṅgava ||
‘ಮುನಿಪುಂಗವನೇ! ದಾನವರು ಯುದ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಭಂಗಗೊಳಿಸಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವನ್ನೂ ಕಸಿದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಈ ತೀವ್ರ ಭಯದಿಂದ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನೀನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸು.’
भीष्म उवाच
Worldly power (aiśvarya) is unstable; when it collapses through conflict, the proper response is to seek protection through legitimate moral-spiritual authority (a muni), emphasizing humility and refuge rather than pride.
A group speaking collectively reports that the Dānavas have defeated them in war and deprived them of their dominion; overwhelmed by intense fear, they appeal to a foremost sage for rescue.
