मुज्च भार्यामुतथ्यस्य कस्मात् त्वं हृतवानसि । “वरुण! तुम मेरे कहनेसे मेरी पत्नीको छोड़ दो। तुमने क्यों उसका अपहरण किया है? तुम लोगोंके लिये लोकपाल बनाये गये हो
muñca bhāryām utathyasya kasmāt tvaṁ hṛtavān asi
“ಉತಥ್ಯನ ಪತ್ನಿಯನ್ನು ಬಿಡು. ನೀನು ಅವಳನ್ನು ಏಕೆ ಅಪಹರಿಸಿದೆ? ನೀವು ಲೋಕಪಾಲರಾಗಿ ನೇಮಕಗೊಂಡವರು; ಲೋಕವಿನಾಶಕರಲ್ಲ. ಸೋಮನು ತನ್ನ ಕನ್ಯೆಯನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಅವಳು ನನ್ನ ಧರ್ಮಪತ್ನಿ. ಹಾಗಿರಲು ಇಂದು ನೀನು ಅವಳನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ಅಪಹರಿಸಿದೆ?” ಉತಥ್ಯನ ಮಾತಿನಂತೆ ನಾರದನು ಜಲಾಧಿಪತಿ ವರುಣನಿಗೆ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು—“ಉತಥ್ಯನ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿರಿ; ನೀವು ಏಕೆ ಅವಳನ್ನು ಅಪಹರಿಸಿದ್ದೀರಿ?”
