गुरु चाभिगतं प्रेम्णा गुरुवन्न बुभूषते । अभिमानप्रवृत्तेन लोभेन समवस्थिता:

Transliteration

guruṁ cābhigataṁ premṇā guruvan na bubhūṣate | abhimāna-pravṛttena lobhena samavasthitāḥ |

Translation

ಗುರು ಸಮೀಪಿಸಿದರೂ ಅವರು ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಿಂದ ಅವರನ್ನು ಪೂಜಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ—ಗುರುವಂತೆ ಗೌರವಿಸಲು ಇಚ್ಛಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಅಹಂಕಾರದಿಂದ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ಲೋಭದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆಸಿ, ಗೌರವ್ಯರನ್ನು ಅವಮಾನಿಸಿ ಹಿರಿಯರನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
