पापात् प्रवर्धतो दृष्टया कल्याणानावसीदत: । ध्रुवं गर्हयसे नित्यं तेनासि हरिण: कृश:
pāpāt pravardhato dṛṣṭvā kalyāṇān avasīdataḥ | dhruvaṃ garhayase nityaṃ tenāsi hariṇaḥ kṛśaḥ ||
ಪಾಪವು ವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವುದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ, ಕಲ್ಯಾಣಕರ ಕರ್ಮಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರತರಾದ ಪುಣ್ಯಾತ್ಮರು ಕುಗ್ಗಿ ದುಃಖಪಡುವುದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ, ನೀನು ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಈ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಮರುಮರು ಗರ್ಹಿಸುತ್ತೀಯೆ. ಆ ನಿರಂತರ ಒಳಗಿನ ಖೇದದಿಂದಲೇ, ಓ ಹರಿಣ, ನೀನು ಕೃಶನಾಗಿ ಪಾಂಡುರವರ್ಣನಾಗಿದ್ದೀಯೆ.
