Dāna-Śreṣṭhatā: On the Superiority of Giving

कीट उवाच सर्वत्र निरतो जीव इतश्नापि सुखं मम । चिन्तयामि महाप्राज्ञ तस्मादिच्छामि जीवितुम्
Transliteration
kīṭa uvāca sarvatra nirato jīva itaś cāpi sukhaṃ mama | cintayāmi mahāprājña tasmād icchāmi jīvitum ||
Translation
ಕೀಟವು ಹೇಳಿತು—“ಮಹಾಪ್ರಾಜ್ಞನೇ! ಜೀವವು ಎಲ್ಲೆಡೆ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರತನಾಗಿರುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಇಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನನಗೆ ನನ್ನ ಸುಖವಿದೆ. ಇದನ್ನು ಚಿಂತಿಸಿ ನಾನು ಬದುಕಲು ಇಚ್ಛಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ.”
