Ethical restraint—especially steadfast non-violence—combined with consistent sacred duty (daily fire-offering) is presented as a powerful, reliable path to spiritual accomplishment (siddhi).
Bhishma, in his instruction on dharma, describes a disciplined practitioner devoted to ahiṃsā and daily offerings into the sacred fire, asserting that such a person attains siddhi within six years without doubt.
