Inquiry into the Discipline of Fasting
भ्रातृणामविभक्तानामुत्थानमपि चेत् सह | न पुत्रभागं विषमं पिता दद्यात् कदाचन
bhrātṝṇām avibhaktānām utthānam api cet saha | na putrabhāgaṁ viṣamaṁ pitā dadyāt kadācana ||
ಸಹೋದರರು ಇನ್ನೂ ಪಾಲು ವಿಭಜಿಸದೆ, ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಸೇರಿ ಶ್ರಮಿಸಿ ಕುಟುಂಬಧನವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿದ್ದರೆ, ತಂದೆ ಜೀವಂತವಾಗಿರುವಾಗಲೇ ಅವರು ಬೇರ್ಪಡಲು ಬಯಸಿದರೂ ತಂದೆ ಪುತ್ರರಿಗೆ ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಅಸಮಾನ ಪಾಲು ನೀಡಬಾರದು; ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಸಮಾನ ಪಾಲನ್ನೇ ನೀಡಬೇಕು.
