पुत्रा: प्रदेया ज्ञानेषु कुलधर्मेषु भारत । भारत! उसके गर्भसे संतान उत्पन्न करके वंश-परम्पराको प्रतिष्ठित करे और ज्ञान तथा कुलधर्मकी शिक्षा पानेके लिये पुत्रोंको गुरुके आश्रममें भेज दे ।।
putrāḥ pradeyā jñāneṣu kuladharmeṣu bhārata | kanyā cotpādya dātavyā kulaputrāya dhīmate ||
ಓ ಭಾರತಾ! ಪುತ್ರರನ್ನು ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಮತ್ತು ಕುಲಧರ್ಮಗಳ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಗುರುಗಳ ಆಶ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಬೇಕು; ಕನ್ಯೆ ಜನಿಸಿದರೆ, ಸತ್ಕುಲಜನನಾದ ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತ ಯೋಗ್ಯ ಯುವಕನಿಗೆ ವಿವಾಹವಾಗಿ ನೀಡಬೇಕು.
