शतक्रतुरुवाच येषां वेदा निहिता वै गुहायां मनीषिणां सत्यवतां महात्मनाम् | तेषां त्वयैकेन महात्मनास्मि वृद्धस्तस्मात् प्रीतिमांस्तेडहमद्य
śatakratur uvāca yeṣāṃ vedā nihitā vai guhāyāṃ manīṣiṇāṃ satyavatāṃ mahātmanām | teṣāṃ tvayā ekena mahātmanā asmi vṛddhas tasmāt prītimāṃs te ’ham adya ||
ಶತಕ್ರತು (ಇಂದ್ರ) ಹೇಳಿದರು—ಸತ್ಯವಂತರಾದ, ವಿವೇಕಿಗಳಾದ ಮಹಾತ್ಮರ ಹೃದಯ-ಗುಹೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವೇದಗಳು ನಿಹಿತವಾಗಿವೆ; ಅಂಥವರಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠರು. ಓ ಮಹಾತ್ಮನೇ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಏಕಾಂತ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ-ಚಿಂತನೆಯಿಂದಲೇ ನಾನು ಸಮೃದ್ಧನಾದೆ; ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಇಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ನನಗೆ ಅಪಾರ ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಉಂಟಾಗಿದೆ.
