ज्योतिस्तेज: प्रकाशं वाप्यूर्ध्वगं चापि वर्ण्यते । प्रदानं तेजसां तस्मात्‌ तेजो वर्धयते नृणाम्‌

Transliteration

jyotistejaḥ prakāśaṃ vāpy ūrdhvagaṃ cāpi varṇyate | pradānaṃ tejasāṃ tasmāt tejo vardhayate nṛṇām ||

Translation

ಶುಕ್ರನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಜ್ಯೋತಿಯನ್ನು ತೇಜಸ್ಸು, ಪ್ರಕಾಶ ಮತ್ತು ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ಏರುವ ಶಕ್ತಿಯೆಂದು ವರ್ಣಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಬೆಳಕಿನ ಮೂಲವನ್ನು ದಾನಮಾಡುವುದು ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ತೇಜಸ್ಸನ್ನು ವೃದ್ಧಿಸುತ್ತದೆ—ಕಾಂತಿ, ಕೀರ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಧರ್ಮಪ್ರತಾಪವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
