Āstīka-stuti at Janamejaya’s Sacrifice (आस्तीकस्तुतिः / यज्ञप्रशंसा)
जनमेजय उवाच अथ तत् कथितं केन यद् वृत्तं तद् वनस्पतौ | आश्चर्यभूतं लोकस्य भस्मराशीकृतं तदा
janamejaya uvāca atha tat kathitaṁ kena yad vṛttaṁ tad vanaspatau | āścaryabhūtaṁ lokasya bhasmarāśīkṛtaṁ tadā ||
ಜನಮೇಜಯನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ತಕ್ಷಕನ ದಂಶದಿಂದ ಆ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಸ್ಮರಾಶಿಯಾದ ಆ ವೃಕ್ಷವನ್ನು ಕಾಶ್ಯಪನು ಮತ್ತೆ ಜೀವಂತಗೊಳಿಸಿ ಹಸಿರುಗೊಳಿಸಿದ ಈ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯಕರ ವೃತ್ತಾಂತವನ್ನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಯಾರು ಹೇಳಿದರು? ಕಾಶ್ಯಪನು ಸಮಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು ತನ್ನ ಮಂತ್ರಗಳಿಂದ ತಕ್ಷಕನ ವಿಷವನ್ನು ನಿಷ್ಪ್ರಭಗೊಳಿಸಿದ್ದರೆ, ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆ ನಾಶವಾಗುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ।
